![]() ![]() I have restarted since adding my user to the vboxsf group. I have an auto-mount folder that maps to my D: drive on the host which I can access using sudo ls /media/sf_D_DRIVE – however, even when my user (ross) is a member of the vboxsf group I get a permission denied error when attempting to explore it. In this folder, you’ll see your shared folder from the Host OS. Inside the root folder, locate the mnt folder and click on it. Inside the Other locations area, find the Computer icon and click on it to access the root folder. Select Make Permanent if you would like to persist this shared folder definition. Then, click on the Other Locations button. Choose a Folder Name a name that identifies this shared folder in Ubuntu (as a host system), e.g. ![]() Choose a Folder Path a folder on your Mac harddrive, e.g. I’m running Ubuntu 11.04 (guest) on Windows 7 (host) with the guest additions installed. Click on the Add new shared folder button.
